Welcome!
Smart Learning School is your guide to unlocking the potential of your mind in any walk of life. First, decide if you need help with preparation (Before Learning), with selecting he right learning strategy for the task (During Learning) or strengthening your memory, recall and application (After Learning).
How it works...
Smart Learning is for everyone - whether you're a student trying to do well in an upcoming test, a tutor guiding a group through a study-skills programme, or an adult learner wanting to use psychology to improve your memory for everyday life. All it takes is a little natural interest in how your brain works and an open mind to take risks and try new things. Scientists call this Metacognition - the process of learning about learning!
Each page is designed around a theme and requires no background knowledge or preparation - just click on the introductory video and take it from there. Discussion points are designed to facilitate group conversations as a teacher or tutor but are also valuable reflection points if you're here alone. Each time, you'll be asked to think about how you currently learn and make one pledge to try something new. That's it!

If you're a school student...
1) Watch original bitesize videos
2) Engage with reflective activities
3) Make a 'pledge' and try something new
4) Leave feedback about how it went!
